Vicky Leandros sings for Planet Earth

Vicky and Michael HerbergerTuesday 20th of April, Vicky Leandros will sing in aid of the Earth at the Megaron in Athens, performing music composed by Georgos Voukanos.

In 2003 Vicky presented, together with that very same composer, the project "Paidon Oramata" (Children's Visions) at the Herodion Atticus. This time Abir Nehme, one of the major performers of Lebanon, will be performing together with Vicky Leandros singing a Greek/Lebanese duet. The show will take you on an imaginary, chronological journey of our planet, revealing the historical and logical course of salvation or destruction of the planet which hosts us.

The unique project "Physis Gaia" (Natural Earth), will be performed in cooperation with the Symphonic Orchestra of Greek Conservatory, with the participation of the Group of traditional Music "Melodion", the Ethnic Spirit Band and the vocal Ensemble "Melody Voices". The Video Art Projection is by Georgos Paraskevopoulos. The music is composed by George Voukanos with lyrics by Mary Voukanou and vocal score sung by Vicky Leandros and Abir Nehme. The conductor is Georgos Aravidis.

The event is organized by the institute of Art and Culture Melody Spirit, under the auspices of the World Organization for Eco-Environmental Protection Foundation Cousteau.

The concert will start at 21.00 hr. and ticket-sales (ext. link) will start on the 29th of March.

Gut Basthorst presents... Vicky Leandros in Concert

BasthorstOn May 30th, 2010, Enno Freiherr von Ruffin proudly presents a concert as well as a fan-meeting with Vicky Leandros at his beautiful estate, Gut Basthorst.

In this sublime rural setting, away from the noise and the stress of the city, Vicky Leandros will present you with her most beautiful songs mixed with her well-known, ever-popular hits, accompanied by her band. The concert will start at 19.00 hr. Tickets are available via the website of Gut Basthorst.

That same day, around 12.30 hr., the doors to the restaurant Zum Pferdestal at Gut Basthorst will open for a unique and special fan-meeting. Fans will not just have the opportunity to talk to one another, but also Vicky herself will take part in this meeting personally.

The fan-meeting will start around 13.00 hr. until 14.00 hr.

Vicky and Michael HerbergerThis Spring Vicky will return to the recording-studio to complete a new album. Together with Michael Herberger (Möge der Himmel), Vicky plans to record an album with big well-renown international songs from -mainly- French composers; e.g..Michel Sardou, Julien Clerc, Charles Aznavour, just to mention a few... Vicky: "There are so many beautiful chansons that I always would have loved to sing and record - personal favourites of mine. It is going to be difficult to choose from so many great songs", she says.

Not only a new German album is under way - Vicky plans on recording a Greek version of the album "Möge der Himmel" as well. After the success of her latest albums, as well as the Greek 5-CD-compilation-box, the Greek record-company has shown much interest in this up-coming new release. In 2009, the German version landed  amongst  the 100 best selling albums that year on the German charts.

The release of the German album is planned for October 2010, the Greek album for November 2010.

Concert-tour in 2011

Finally, after a lot of confusion about the new concert-tour, "35 Years On Stage", will open by March 2011.  

"My sincere apologies to my audience and all of my loyal fans for all the trouble and confusion we caused with postponing the concert-tour so many times. I do understand their feeling disappointed. I wish we could have done it differently, but this time we will make sure the concerts will take place as promised!"
